McPeak, Wesley H.

Wesley H. McPeak, 94, of Pilot, Virginia went to be with the Lord December 24, 2008. He was a member of Union Valley Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Preceded in death by his parents, Bennie and Effie McPeak, his brother, Marvin McPeak of Floyd, his brother, Wiley McPeak of Beckley W.Va., his sister, Katie McPeak of Floyd and daughter, Lena Faye McPeak. He is survived by his devoted wife of 71 years, Ethel Worrell McPeak; six children, and two foster children, Joyce Kershaw and husband Drew of Richmond, Marie Culbertson and husband Phil of Vinton, Everette McPeak and wife Linda of Pilot, Archie McPeak of Montvale, Bonnie Cardwell and husband Jerry of Riner, Evelyn Vest and husband Michael of Check, Bobby Cooper of Pilot and Willie Cooper of Pilot. Survived by three brothers and one sister, Ross McPeak of Willis, Palmer McPeak of Meadows of Dan, Clifton McPeak of Cleveland, Ohio, and Violet Hubbard of Floyd.

Survived by eight grandchildren, Larry D. Willis, Connie McPeak Haven, Timmy Boone, Tracy Boone Carico, Steve McPeak; Kelly McPeak Soca; Matthew McPeak and A.J. McPeak; 12 great grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren.

Wesley was born with a love for farming. He was a carpenter at the Radford Arsenal for several years. With his entrepreneur spirit he built and operated a country grocery store, a dairy business, opened and operated a used car part business in Pilot while maintaining his love for farming.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. till 9 p.m. Friday, December 26, 2008 at the Huffville Methodist Church, 1078 Huffville Road, Pilot, Va. The Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 27, 2008 at the Huffville Methodist Church officiated by the Rev. J.P. Hale and the Rev. David Sisson. Interment to follow at the church cemetery.
