Davis, Paul David

Paul David Davis Jr., 66, of Christiansburg, Va., died on Thursday, December 25, 2008, at his home. He was born in Blacksburg, Va., on June 27, 1942, to the late Paul David Sr., and Mae Barnett Davis, and was also preceded in death by three brothers, Bill Davis, Doug Davis, Leslie Davis; and a sister, Barbara Heslep.

He is survived by his wife and best friend, Irene Davis, of Christiansburg; children, Elaine and Bobby Dove, of Christiansburg, Hilda and Bill Walls, of Christiansburg, Jo and Clayton Linkous, of Blacksburg, Dale Earley and Nancy Smith, of Christiansburg, Gail and William Bain, of Pilot, and Sherman and Debbie Earley, of Pearisburg; 12 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; a great-great grandson; his sister, Mary Walton; four sisters-in-law; five brothers-in-law; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Monday, December 29, 2008, in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike Johnston, the Rev. Dewey O. Weaver Jr., and the Rev. Michael Vest officiating. Interment will follow in the North Fork Baptist Church Cemetery, Ellett, Va.

Friends may call anytime on Sunday, December 28, 2008, and the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday evening at McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, S.W., Blacksburg, Va.
