Bryant, Helen Dow

amem_cardinal.jpgHelen Dow Bryant , 97, of Blacksburg, died Wednesday, December 24, 2008 at Heritage Hall Health Care Center. She was born in Jackson, Miss. on October 18, 1911 to the late Percy and Lena Adams Dow. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Clifton E. Bryant.

Mrs. Bryant’s favorite hobby was weaving and she had shows of her weaving in New York, Memphis, Atlanta and Houston. Some of her weavings hang in the corporate offices of several major textile corporations.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Clifton and Patty Bryant, Blacksburg; four grandchildren, Melinda Arrington, Deborah Miller, Diane Foster, and Clifton Bryant, II; five great grandchildren; her sister, Dorothy Cabell, Blacksburg; a sister-in-law, Lucy Noblin, Lafayette, La.

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 26, 2008 at 3 p.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel. Interment with graveside services will be on Monday, December 29, 2008, at 2 p.m. in Lakewood Memorial Park, Jackson, Miss.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. prior to service at McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, SW, Blacksburg.
