Tickle, Guy Wilbur

Guy Wilbur Tickle, 71, of Pearisburg, Va., went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 4, 2006 in New River Valley Medical Center in Radford, Va. Mr. Tickle was born on September 14, 1934 in Giles County and was a son of the late Walter and Lathie Fisher Tickle. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by seven brothers and one sister. Mr. Tickle was a retired truck driver for Helig-Meyers in Pearisburg.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Tickle of Pearisburg; one daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca T and Jimmy Young of Pearisburg; two sons and daughters-in-law, Wendell and Chris Tickle of Pearisburg, Guy A. and Kim of Pearisburg; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and two special buddies, Danielle and Autumn.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, April 8, 2006 at 11 a.m. at the Givens Funeral Chapel with Dr. Fred L. Austin and the Rev. Bill Sleasman officiating with burial following in the Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Givens Funeral Home in Pearisburg.
