Reedy, Creola Songer

Creola Songer Reedy, surrounded by her loving family, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, March 19, 2015. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who cherished her family above all.

She was a generous, strong, hard-working christian, an accomplished seamstress, and avid gardner. She loved to fish and be outdoors. She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Troy Mack Reedy; her parents, Kermit O. Songer and Mary Kate (Hughes); infant brother; brother, Wayne; and sister, Lucille. She is survived by her sisters, Thelma Akers husband Eugene, and Helen Connelly husband Cliff; children, Katherine Wenning husband Thomas, Pamela Potter, Randy Weddle, Teresa Pruitt husband John; grandchildren, Matthew Weddle wife Amanda, Kara Pruitt, Brandon Potter, Joseph Wenning, Sara Pruitt, Andrew Wenning, Emily Potter, Christopher Wenning; great-grandson, Isaac Weddle; several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be conducted Sunday, March 22, 2015 at 2:00 pm in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, C/O Mrs. Betty Basham-Chairman, 200 Evans Street, Christiansburg, Va. 24073. The family will receive friends from 1-2 pm before the service at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Dr., SW Blacksburg.
