Lane, Edith Carnette Fisher

Edith Carnette Fisher Lane, 87, went to be with the Lord, Saturday, November 22, 2008. She was born in Pearisburg, Va. on April 2, 1921 to the late Joseph and Nannie Fisher. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Jackson Lane; a great-grandson, Ryan David Wallace; brothers, Frank Fisher and Marvin Fisher; sisters, Craig Altizer and Myrtle Jones.

Leaving to cherish her memory are daughters, Connie Lane Wallace and Sandra Lane Price and husband Bill; grandchildren, Jeffrey Wallace of South Carolina, Kim Ratcliff of Christiansburg, David Wallace and wife Monica of Christiansburg, Pamela Price of Orlando, Fla., and Todd Price and wife, Sheri of North Carolina; great-grandchildren, Joshua Linkous, Aaron Ratcliff, Danielle Alderman and husband Bobby, Jacob, Emilee, and Christian Wallace of Christiansburg, Va., and Tyler Price of North Carolina.

She was a member of Cambria Baptist Church for many years, She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved and cared for her family deeply. She enjoyed gardening, reading, and her cat Stubborn. She was the joy of our life.

A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at Sunset Cemetery officiated by Pastor Mike Vest.
