Sheppard, Dolly Mae Fain

amem_countryhome.jpgDolly Mae Fain Sheppard, 81, a lifelong resident of Prices Fork until 1999, currently lived in Pulaski at 316 Pierce Avenue, died Sunday, April 2, 2006 at her home.

She was born in Norris Run on May 17, 1924 to the late John R. and Nora Farley Fain. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Willie James Sheppard, Sr.; a son, Willie James Sheppard, Jr.; a granddaughter, Kerena Kessinger; brothers, Vernie Fain, Arnold Fain; a sister, Anna Belle Albert; and three sons-in-law, Louis Sutherland, Eldon Akers, and Larry Richardson.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Lewis and Shirley Sheppard of Prices Fork; six daughters and sons-in-law, Nora Sutherland Turpin and Everett of Pulaski, Etta Akers of Dublin, Mary (Bonnie) Richardson, Norma (Estella) and Sherman Richardson of Pulaski, Maxine and Allan Jarrells of Pulaski, and Martha and James (Jimmy) Phillippi of Pulaski; and a very special granddaughter, Melissa Lyons; 13 grandsons; 29 great-grandchildren; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Vivian and George Jarels and Lena and Richard Hutchison; a brother and sister-in-law, Early and Hallie Fain; and a sister-in-law, Esther Barker of Prices Fork.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, April 5, 2006 at 1 p.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Homer D. Sawyer, the Rev. Randall Lawrence, the Rev. George Jarels, the Rev. Richard Hutchison, and the Rev. Steve Gordon officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday evening at McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Dr., Blacksburg.
