John Henry Calfee Jr., 66, peacefully passed away at Carolina Medical Center in Pineville, N.C., in his wife’s loving arms Tuesday, March 17, 2015.

Johnny was born in 1949 in Pulaski, where he graduated from Pulaski High School and went on to receive his bachelor’s and his master’s degrees in business from the University of Miami, Florida. He worked in Atlanta in the machine tool finance business for a number of years where he met and married the love of his life, Marilyn.

He is predeceased by his parents, John Henry Calfee Sr. and Betty Whitaker Calfee.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 22 years, Marilyn Ryan Calfee; a brother, Robert (Tommy) Thomas and his wife, Linda; a lifelong friend, Ralph Kelly; and his many friends, neighbors and golfing buddies at the Rolling Hills Country Club in Monroe, N.C.

He was a lifelong member of the Thorn Spring Country Club, and played in many member/guest tournaments there. Johnny fought a long battle with cancer in a quiet courageous manner and never complained.

His family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 21, 2015, at Seagle Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 2 p.m. at Oakwood Cemetery with the Rev. Scott Robertson-Gouge officiating.
