Norse, Ada Lee Oglesby

amem_village.jpgFuneral services for Ada Lee Oglesby Norse, 73, of Greenville, Miss., will be held Tuesday, April 4, 2006 at the Glen Allan United Methodist Church in Glen Allan, Miss.

She died Friday, March 31, 2006 at the Mississippi Care Center in Greenville, Miss. Burial will be in the Greenfield Cemetery in Glen Allan under the direction of Boone-Wells Funeral Home in Greenville, Miss.

Mrs. Norse was born in Chatham, Miss. where she graduated from Glen Allan High School. She then graduated from the University of Mississippi with a bachelor’s of arts in music. She became a field secretary for Delta Gamma Fraternity in Columbus, Ohio and later became a buyer for Lazarus Department Store, and then secretary for F.E. Hall and Associates in Greenville, Miss. Moving to Valdosta, Ga., she became the Assistant Director of Service Club at Moody Air Force Base.

She made her home in Radford, Va. most of her adult life, but returned to Greenville in the early 1990’s due to ill health. Besides her family, playing bridge was her greatest passion. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Greenville, Miss.

She is survived by a daughter, Julia Norse, of St. Thomas, Virgin Islands; a son, Bran Norse, of Burke, Va.; and their father, Dr. Clifford C. Norse, of Christiansburg, Va.; two brothers, Joe Oglesby, Jr., of Indianola, Miss., and John W. Oglesby, of Chatham, Miss. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the Glen Allan United Methodist Church
