Martin, Marilyn McNew

Marilyn Cozene McNew Martin, 80, of Dublin, Va., died on Wednesday, March 11, 2015. She was born on August 10, 1934, in Pulaski, and was the daughter of the late Irene Poole McNew and Maynard Bruce McNew.

She was a retired employee of R.A.A.P. in Radford. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Martin; and a sister, Gladys McNew Lyons.

She is survived by two sons, Earl U. Linkous and his husband, Andrew Sterling, of Roanoke, and Terry Wayne Linkous and his wife, Sue, of Dublin: a daughter, Tanua M. Marcum and her husband, Harry, of Dublin; three brothers, Denny Edwards and his wife, Charlene, of Knoxville, Tenn., Hensel McNew and his wife, Pauline, of Dublin, and David McNew of Dublin; four sisters, Betty Farmer and her husband, Frank, of Dublin, Dorothy Weller of Dublin, Sandra Armbrister and her husband, Terry, of Ohio, and Sharon Reed and her husband, Ricky, of Christiansburg. She was also survived by seven grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of donations to the American Cancer Society.
