Holt, Robert Junior

Robert Junior Holt, 86, a lifelong resident of the Guinea Mountain Community of Giles County, Va., passed away peacefully in his home on Thursday, February 26, 2015. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ida Virginia Perkins Holt; an infant son, Robert Jr.; and his parents, John and Sadie Holt.

He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Juanita and Rudy Jones of Pearisburg; grandsons and spouse, Robert Jones of Christiansburg, and Kenny and Amy Jones of Rock Hill, S.C; a very special great-grandson, KJ Jones; brother and sisters-in-law, Ed and Marie Holt, Bula Walters, and Ethel Perkins; two special nephews and their spouses, Alvin and Anna Holt, and John and Stephanie Holt; several nieces and nephews; and two special “daughters,” Connie Bane and Linda Bailey, whom he loved dearly.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 1, 2015, at Mountain View Church with the Rev. Merriel Hedrick, Evangelist Arles Pyles and the Rev. Lynn Mullin officiating. Burial will follow in Mountain View – Anderson Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 1, 2015, at Mountain View Church from 1 until the service time of 2 p.m.
