Bates, Donna Bowman

Donna Joyce Bowman Bates, 83, of Christiansburg, Va., died in the early morning hours of Wednesday, October 15, 2008. She was preceded in death by her dear husband, Robert V. Bates; her parents, Edith M. and Joseph S. Bowman; and her brother, Robert S. Bowman.

She is survived by her son, Mark R. Bates, of Christiansburg and South Roanoke; daughter and son-in-law, Laura B. and Michael G. Demeter, of Johns Creek, Ga.; granddaughters, Megan J. Demeter and Nicole M. Demeter, both of Johns Creek, Ga.; and many other family members and friends.

A very compassionate, gentle, caring and loving woman, she will be greatly missed by all those who were touched by her.
