Brown, Edith Dalton
Edith Amelia Dalton Brown, 99, a long time resident of Radford, Virginia, went to be with her Lord and beloved husband, Harry, on February 10, 2015 in Sanford, North Carolina.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert, Sr., Amelia and Mae Dalton, her husband, Harry Lee Brown, sister, Alice Dalton Knode, and brothers, Robert Jr., Walter, Elden, Foster, Archie, Louman and Raymond
She was a faithful Christian, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She was called “Nana” by so many who loved her. She was a charter member of Calvary Baptist Church in Radford, Virginia where she was active as a choir member, Sunday school teacher and circle member. Mrs. Brown is retired from nursing, working over 20 years at the then St. Albans Psychiatric Hospital. She and her husband, Harry, enjoyed cooking, gardening and traveling with family and friends.
Mrs. Brown leaves behind to cherish her memories one son, Robert H. “Bobby” Brown and daughter-in-law, Carole Yow Brown of Sanford, North Carolina; her grandchildren Karen Brown Oldham (Marty), Reginald Brown and Lisa Brown Godwin (Rocky); great-grandsons, J. R. Wright, Justin Wright (Terri), Ryan Hedgepath, Zachary Godwin, Christian Godwin, and John Oldham; one great great-granddauaghter, Natalee Wright; and two great great-grandsons, Camden Wright and Landon Oldham. She will be remembered fondly as well by many nieces, nephews and friends.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at the Calvary Baptist Church in Radford. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 am with Pastor Brian Cockram officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin.
