Trump Sr., Edward J.

Edward J. (Ed) Trump Sr., of Christiansburg, passed away Monday, October 6, 2008, in Montgomery Regional Hospital. He was a retired employee of VDOT, with over 30 years of service. Following his retirement he was a funeral assistant with Horne Funeral Service until his death. A member of Cedar Springs Church, he was a proud honorary member of Christiansburg Rescue Squad.

The son of the late Henry J. and Lakie M. Trump, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Rosa T. Hinkley. Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Jean M. “Granny” Trump; children and spouses, Edward J. “Eddie” Trump Jr. and Paulette A., Christiansburg, Kathy and Jim Harvey, Blue Ridge, Va., Debbie and Terry Akers, Shelby and Donald Main, Jerry L. and Rhonda Trump, all of Christiansburg; grandchildren, Bobby “April” Trump, Devin Trump, Aaron Harvey, Dr. Troy “Nancy” Akers, Amber Akers, Brittany Main, Robert Martin, Yvette Martin, Crystal Orange, Naomi Orange, Tabitha Sheppard; great-grandchildren, Mollie Elizabeth Akers, Guy Edward Trump; sister-in-law, Lois T. McGuyer, Christiansburg; numerous nieces and nephews; families who he considered to be his children and grandchildren, Crystal “Patrick” Lloyd, Nathan and Drew; Marty, Cindy Hauschildt, Matthew and Taylor; very special friends, James A. “Jim” Epperly, Carlton and Amanda Sutton, Don Sumler; his Christiansburg Rescue Squad Family, Cedar Springs Church Family and the Horne Funeral Home Staff.

The family would like to extend a very special thanks to the Second Floor Nursing Staff at MRH, Doctors Ed Wilder and Michael Payne for all their love and care.

The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Horne Funeral Service, Christiansburg, Va. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 8, in the Horne Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Neal Turner officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery.
