Reynolds, William Osborne
William Osborne Reynolds, 88, of Blacksburg died, Wednesday, February 4, 2015, at his home surrounded by his family. He was a native of Giles County, Va. Born on October 2, 1926 to the late Howard Madison and Elizabeth Jones Reynolds. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Grace Keister Reynolds; and infant daughter, Aubin Margaret Reynolds.
He was a longtime member of the Luther Memorial Lutheran Church. Mr. Reynolds was also a veteran of World War II having served in the United States Army. He retired from the Radford Army Ammunition Plant as a carpenter after almost 30 years of service. His passions included farming, gardening, but most of all his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his daughters, Robin Elizabeth Reynolds, of Blacksburg, Tammy Reynolds Graham and husband, Timmy, of Newport, Jan Reynolds Gilbertson and husband, Phil, of Blacksburg; grandchildren, Whitney Elizabeth Akers and husband, Justin, Dalton Reynolds Graham, Dillon Keister Graham, Drew Madison Graham; great-grandchild, Connor William Akers; sisters, Pauline McFarlane, of Roanoke, Elizabeth Ann Booth, of Bedford; special niece, Beth W. Fife; special nephew, E.G. Willard, Jr.; numerous nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Virginia Tech Adult Day Services, Medi Home Health and Hospice, and his caregiver, Virginia Lucas.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 8, 2015 in the Luther Memorial Lutheran Church with the Rev. Bill King officiating. Interment will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 200 Evans St. Christiansburg, Va. 24073 or to Luther Memorial Lutheran Church 600 Prices Fork Road Blacksburg, Va. 24060. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday afternoon, February 7, 2015 at the McCoy Funeral Home 150 Country Club Dr. SW, Blacksburg.
