Murphy, Billy Ray

Billy Ray Murphy, 57, of Pulaski, Va., died Thursday, September 25, 2008, in the Wythe County Community Hospital. He was born in Davy, W.Va., on February 11, 1951, and was the son of the late Samuel Columbus Murphy and Marcella Newcomb Murphy.

Surviving are his wife, Princess Patton Murphy; daughter, Kimberly Lynn Murphy; sisters, Jeanette Lester and Barbara Culclasure; brothers, Sam Murphy and Jesse Murphy; grandchildren, Bradley Cook and Dakota Wayne Murphy; and special aunt and uncle, Della and Ray Hughes.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, September 28, 2008, from the Stevens Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Leslie Shelton officiating. Burial will follow in the Murphy Family Cemetery, Pulaski County. Visiting will be held on Saturday evening, September 27, 2008, at Stevens Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Arrangements by Stevens Funeral Home, Pulaski, Va.
