Lafon, Bertha Furrow

Bertha Furrow Lafon, age 89, of Newport died Saturday, January 24, 2015 at English Meadows, Christiansburg. She was born in Giles County, VA on May 22, 1925 to the late William Henry and Delia Shepherd Furrow.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Yancy R. Lafon; a son, Douglas Lafon; four brothers, Clarence, Charles, Irvin (Red), Robert; two sisters, Hazel Keister, Kathleen Hypes. She is survived by her sisters-in-law, Minnie Furrow of Newport, Ella Furrow of Blacksburg, Janice Furrow of Newport; several nieces and nephews and her extended family at MOOG. Bertha will be deeply missed by her nephew and caregiver, Mike Furrow. The family wishes to extend their appreciation to English Meadows and Good Samaritan Hospice. Graveside services will be conducted Friday, January 30, 2015 at 11:00 am in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Todd Triplet officiating.
