Fletcher, Alvin Carr

Alvin Carr Fletcher, 83, formerly of Narrows, died Monday, January 12, 2015, in Tampa, Florida after a long illness. Born in Narrows on April 24, 1931, he was a son of the late Franklin Madison and Maryann Hypes Fletcher.

He was a retired twenty year veteran of the U S Army, Viet Nam Era, and was retired from the U S Postal Service.

He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife of 56 years, Laura Kay Walkup Fletcher; his son David Fletcher of Tampa, FL; his sister Betty Eaton; several beloved in-laws, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at 11:00 am in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St, Pembroke with burial following with military honor guard at the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Dublin. Online condolences may be sent by visiting kendallfuneralhome.com.
