Brookman, Reta Hamilton

Reta Hamilton Brookman, 69 of Elliston, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, August 31, 2008 after a long illness, from her daughter’s home with her family by her side. A devoted Christian of the Free Will Baptist Faith, she loved her Lord.

The daughter to the late Delmer Hamilton and Christine Mullins, she was also preceded in death by her daddy, Ivory Mullins, her husband, Allen E. Brookman and nephew, Robbie Mullins. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Reta Pabon, of Elliston, Donna and Thomas Graham, of Elliston, and Nancy and John Brooks, of Helen, Ga. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Brandi Haendle, Christine Haendle, Elise Haendle; and her great-grandchildren, Logan Haendle, Naia Haendle and Layla Hurd; sisters and brothers, Edna Pucket, of Mt. Jackson, Va., Bonnie Snyder and husband, Gary, of Wise, Va., Roy H. Mullins, of Jenkins, Ky., James Mullins and wife, Delorse, of Stickleyville, Va., Robert Mullins, of Wise, Va., Glenn Mullins and wife, Jannie, of Jenkins, Ky., Gerald Mullins and wife, Anita, of Appalachia, Va., Johnny Mullins and wife, Deborah, of Wise, Va.; sister-in-law, Martha Sink, of Blacksburg; and numerous nieces and nephews also survive her.

The family will receive friends at The Horne Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 2, 2008 from 5 to 8 p.m. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 3, 2008, in The Horne Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Virgil McHone officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery.
