Smith, Bittle Pierce

Bittle Pierce Smith, 92, of Blacksburg, Va., passed to his eternal home on Tuesday, January 13, 2015, at Lewis Gale Hospital-Montgomery. He was born in Alleghany County, Va., on November 18, 1922, to the late Daniel L. and Pearlie L. Graves Smith.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 37 years, Willie Mae Dowdy Smith; and four siblings.

He is survived by his sons, Bobby and wife, Doris, James and wife, Judy, all of Blacksburg, Bill and wife, Valori of Knoxville, Tenn.; and daughter, Linda and husband, Robert Terrill of Christiansburg; grandchildren, Robert Smith (Amy), Joshua Smith (Valorie), Jeremy Smith (Natasha), Melanie Vaughan (Mark), Joey Terrill (Krista), Shannon McMillian, Michele Treadway, Alaina Baxter (Brandon); 17 great-grandchildren; and four siblings.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 3 p.m. on Friday, January 16, 2015, in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Pastor Gary McCoy and Pastor Mark Vaughan officiating. Interment will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3 p.m. on Friday at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, SW, Blacksburg, Va., 540-552-3211.
