Criner, Joe Ann Surface

Joe Ann Surface Criner, age 71, of Christiansburg passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2015, at Pulaski Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Blacksburg, Va. on October 16, 1943 to the late Hubert Surface and Christine Orange Surface.

She was preceded in death by her husband Wallace Criner (Crow). Joe Ann worked out of the home some but put all of her time and love into her family. She loved the outdoors.

She is survived by her children, Timothy Criner, Christiansburg, Thomas Criner and wife, Phyliss, Pearisburg, a daughter and son-in-law, Anita and Randy Jarrells, Dublin, six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one on the way, one sister and brother-in-law, Janice and Rufus Cochran, of Pearisburg, two brothers and sisters-in-law, George and Peggy Surface of Blacksburg, Benny and Reba Surface of Christiansburg. She had many other family and friends that she loved.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, January 9, 2015 at 1:00 pm in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Pastor Cliff Hall officiating. Interment will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 pm Thursday evening at McCoy Funeral Home 150 Country Club Dr. SW, Blacksburg.
