Adkins, Imogene Purdy

Imogene Purdy Adkins, 95, of Radford, Va., died Tuesday, August 19, 2008, in a Dublin Rehabilitation Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse W. Adkins.

Surviving are two sons, Scotty D. Adkins and a special friend, Betty Leonard, and Jacky Adkins and his wife, Jean, of Radford; two daughters, Lillie Hamblin, of Radford, and Alma O. Whitson, of Pulaski; six grandchildren; three greatgrandchildren; and four greatgreat-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, August 22, 2008, at the Walton Pentecostal Holiness Church with Pastor Lee Sarver officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Friday at the church. DeVilbiss Funeral Home in Radford is handling the arrangements.
