kinkade-road-homeClyde Pritchard Greer, Sr. 89 of Draper, died Sunday, January, 4, 2015 at Lewis Gale Hospital – Pulaski. He was born on June 6, 1925 in Black Mountain, NC, and was the son of the late Ethel Stanton Greer and Elijah Allison Greer. He was a member of “The Greatest Generation” while serving in the U.S. Navy from 1942 to 1946, and then honorably discharged. He graduated from the University of Delaware and worked for 33 years at R.A.A.P. Clyde also became a gentleman farmer and enjoyed many years on his farm in Draper. He was an avid tennis player, an accomplished musician and talented crossword puzzle worker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Betty Greer, two sisters, Melba Chance and Jennie Cooper, one brother, John Greer, and an infant daughter Laura. He is survived by his five children; Clyde Jr., and his wife Bonnie, David and his wife Mary Beth, Eileen Simpkins and her husband Shane, Brian Greer, and Dan and Jennifer Greer; two sisters, Dottie Corbin and Carolyn Bly. He is survived by eight grandchildren; Katie and Becky Simpkins, Joanna and her husband Patrick, Allison and her husband Russell, Molly Greer, Emily and her husband Sam, Sam Greer, and Jacob Greer, along with a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Seagle Funeral Home, with the Rev. Terri Sternberg officiating. Interment will be at Sunrise Burial Park in Fairlawn. The family will receive friends on Wednesday at Seagle Funeral Home from 12 Noon until 2:00 p.m. service time.
