Cooley, Dan Kenneth

Dan Kenneth Cooley (May 17, 1930 – October 12, 2014) Mr. Cooley was born in Galax, Virginia, he was the son of the late Charles Henry Cooley and Nora McKnight Cooley. Besides his parents he was predeceased by a sister, Willene Cooley Kincaid.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Todd Cooley of the home; a daughter, Ann Cooley Pierpoint and husband Thomas Joseph Pierpoint Jr. and also survived by two grandsons, Thomas Joseph Pierpoint and Andrew Todd Pierpoint; a brother and his wife, Dick and Linda Cooley of Galax

He attended Hargrave Military Academy and National Business College. He served in the United States Air Force, serving in England. Mr. Cooley was retired from Wingate Apprasial Service where he was employed for thirty-eight years.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at Lebanon United Methodist Church in Elk Creek, VA. The Rev. John Duvall and Rev. Phyllis Hankins and Harold Wingate will officiate. Interment to follow in Lebanon Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by Grayson County VFW Post 7726.

The family will receive friends Monday, October 13, from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
