Correll, Arnold Lee
Arnold Lee Correll, 63, of Pilot, passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2008. Arnold was a true outdoorsman, who enjoyed a 40 year logging career, with 35 of those years spent with his brother, Clyde, in a logging partnership.
With a strong work ethic and toughness, he believed it was never too cold, hot, snowy or wet to work. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Gearldine Jones Correll, of Pilot, Va.; one stepson and spouse, Grady and Jessica Cromer, of Pilot, Va.; two brothers and spouses, Frank and Doris Correll, of Concord, N.C., and Clyde and Beulah Correll, of Floyd, Va.; two sisters and spouse, Loraine Harris, of Botetourt County, Va., and Mary and Winston Link, of Roanoke, Va.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. on Sunday, August 17, 2008, at Gardner Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Marvin Wade and the Reverend Jerry Shepherd officiating. Interment will follow at Huffville Cemetery. Friends may call on Saturday, August 16, 2008, after 2 p.m. at Gardner Funeral Home where the family will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Flowers are appreciated, or in honor of Arnold’s request, donations may be made to the Virginia Trappers’ Association, c/o Bob Newberry, 5595 Waddletown Road, Bland, Va. 24315.
