Conley, Roger Carroll

Roger Carroll Conley, 59, of Pearisburg, died Thursday, August 14, 2008, in the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Salem after a long illness. Born in Giles County on September 15, 1948, he was a son of the late Allen Edward and Elsie Perkins Conley.

He had been employed as a custodian at K-Mart in Christiansburg and was a veteran of the United States Army, Viet Nam Era.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Whittaker Conley, of Virginia Beach; a daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Daniel Chewning, of Georgia; a stepdaughter and her husband, Tammy and John Foltz, of North Carolina; a brother and sister-in-law, Allen Edward Jr. and Faye Conley, of Narrows; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Lilly Mae and David Lee Mullins, of Pearisburg, and Mary Maggie and Jessie Niece, of Pearisburg; and two grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday, August 18, 2008, in the Kendall Funeral Home at 605 Snidow St. in Pembroke with Pastor Eddie Kendall officiating. Burial will follow in the Anderson Cemetery at Mt. View with VFW Post 6000 from Narrows, American Legion Post 311 from Pembroke and Post 68 from Narrows providing Graveside Military Rites.
