Dickerson, Viola Bessie Jones

Viola Bessie Jones Dickerson, 77, of the Poplar Hill Community, Pearisburg, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, July 26, 2008 at New River Valley Medical Center.

She was born June 14, 1931 at Grayson County, Va., the daughter of the late Floyd Emory and Lula Savine Haga Jones. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Walter Garfield Dickerson, four brothers and sisters-in-law, Ralph and Lena Jones, Vance and Mickie Jones, Oscar and Hazel Jones, Elmer and Ramona Jones. She was a member of French’s Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church and was retired from Dublin Garment with 30 years service.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Terri Dickerson, Narrows; one daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Butch O’Dell, Poplar Hill; one brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Margaret Jones, Poplar Hill; grandchildren, Randy (Nickie) O’Dell, Cecilie (Earl) Jude, Cecilia (Travis) Robertson, Russell (Shelley) Quesenberry, Amy (Jason) Quesenberry St.Clair; great-grandchildren, Julie O’Dell was special, Josie, Judy and JoAnna 0′ Dell, Keilee, Ethan and Paige Jude, Autumn and Lee Robertson, Michael Bolt, Cambria Porath and Riley St. Clair; stepgrandchildren, Amanda (Brian) Snidow, ,Jessica (Greg) Parsell; stepgreat-grandchildren, Bria, Ally, Seth and Keaton Snidow; Zack and Caity Parsell.

Funeral service will be Monday at 2 p.m. at French’s Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Billy Akers, the Rev. Dallas Jewell and the Rev. John Hash officiating. Burial in the Shannon Cemetery, Poplar Hill. Visitation will be Sunday at French’s Chapel P. H. Church from 6 to 8 p.m. Arrangements by A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home, White Gate.
