Lewis, Flem Junior

Flem Lewis, Jr., 64, of Christiansburg, departed this earthly life on Thursday, July 24, at Montgomery Regional Hospital. Flem was born June 17, 1944 to the late Flem Lewis, Sr. and Irene Carter Lewis. He was also preceded in death by a son, Curtis Grandy.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Mrs. Wanda Marie Grandy Lewis; two sons, Kenneth Grandy and Davon (Tonya) Lewis both of Christiansburg, Va.; one daughter, Patricia Calfee, of Dublin, Va.; two brothers, Fred Douglas Lewis, of Radford and Elder David Lewis (Nora) , of Christiansburg, Va.; one sister, Bessie Lewis, of Christiansburg, Va.; one uncle, Harrison Carter, of Christiansburg, Va.; ten grandchildren; six greatgrandchildren; two godchildren, Maakyah Marie Sherman and Donald Broom, Jr.; a longtime devoted friend, Miss Doris Sherman and a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, July 29, 2008 at 2 p.m. in the Schaeffer Memorial Baptist Church with the Bishop Anthony Tucker officiating. Interment will follow in the Schaeffer Community Cemetery, Christiansburg.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday evening at Schaeffer Memorial Baptist Church, 570 High St., Christiansburg. Arrangements by McCoy Funeral Home Blacksburg.
