Richard Allen Whittaker Sr., 53, of Pembroke, Va., passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2008.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Henry Sr.; and son, Jeremiah Whittaker. He is survived by his mother, Jean Lorene Martin Whittaker; wife, Irene K. Whittaker; sons, Richard Whittaker Jr. and John Whittaker; and daughter-inlaw, Jessica Whittaker. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Destiny and Jasmine Whittaker, of Narrows, and Harley Sanders, of Staffordsville; a special friend, Doris Wright; his dogs, Tinker Bell and Checkers; and many friends also survive.
