Goad, Juanita Fay Burton

Juanita Fay Burton Goad, 78, of 3043 Hawks Nest Lane, Draper, Va., died early Monday morning, June 30, 2008, in the Beulah House, Dublin, Va.

She was born in Pulaski, Va., on July 11, 1929, and was the daughter of the late David Monroe Burton and Nettie O’Dell Burton. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Marvel Burton, Jack Burton and Thomas Burton; and by a sister, Opal Burton.

Surviving are her husband, Carl Edward Goad, of Draper; daughters and sons-in-law, Lana and Sammy Goodman, of Dublin, Rhonda and Randy Hale, of Salem, and Sheila and Chuck Brown, of Draper; grandchildren and spouses, David and Amy Goodman, of Dublin, Mark Goodman, of Dublin, Carla and Brian Cross, of Christiansburg, Kati King, of Pulaski, Jessica and Bradley Long, of Princeton, N.J., Corey Brown, of Draper, and Haleigh Brown, of Draper; great-grandchildren, Devin Goodman, Ayden Goodman, Nora Elizabeth Cross and Gavin Thomas Cross; and sisters, Marie Kingrea, of Pulaski, Eunice Sauer, of West Palm Beach, Fla., Barbara Taylor, of Draper, and Zenith Taylor, of Pulaski.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, July 3, 2008, from Stevens Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Eddie Kendall, the Rev. Gary Cope and the Rev. Charles T. Ramsey officiating. Burial will follow in the Thornspring Cemetery, Pulaski County.

Visiting will be held Wednesday evening, July 2, 2008, at Stevens Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that memorials be made to the Beulah House, 4704 Caddell Lane, Dublin, Va. 24084 or to the Parkinson Foundation, 1501 North West 9th Avenue, Miami, Fla. 33136.
