Dillon, Edith Alta Pendleton

Edith Alta Pendleton Dillon, 96, of Floyd, passed away Sunday, June 29, 2008.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 75 years, Harman E. Dillon; parents, John Ellis and Clemon Dehart Pendleton; and brothers, Eugene Pendleton, Coy Elijah Pendleton, Herman Edward Pendleton and Alvin Ellis Pendleton.

She is survived by three sisters, Lakie Lawless, of Danville, Queenie Dilworth, of Winston-Salem, N.C., and Goldie Belcher, of Ridgeway; special godson and family, Chuckie, Linda, Chaz and Nick Nelson; and special great-niece, Leona Treadway.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 2, 2008, at Gardner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Jacksonville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:45 until 1:45 p.m. on Wednesday at Gardner Funeral Home, Floyd, Va.
