Spence, Carl Wesley

Carl Wesley Spence, 80, of Pulaski, died Saturday, November 1, 2014, in the LewisGale Hospital Pulaski.He was born in Draper on September 9, 1934 and was the son of the late Seagle Spence and Emma Duncan Spence. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Norma Jean Spence Jones.

Mr. Spence was a retired employee with Marshall Welding and was a veteran of the United States Army.

Surviving are his wife, Maria Spence; daughters, Anita Dalton and Vera Spence; son, David Spence; brother, Doug Spence; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at 2 p.m. from the Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles McPeak officiating. Burial will follow in the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery, Dublin, with the Pulaski VFW Post 1184 conducting the military graveside rites. Visitation will be Wednesday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the service hour.
