Flinchum, Eva D. Hamilton

Eva D. (Tennie) Hamilton Flinchum, 80, of 7650 Belspring Road, Belspring, Va., passed away on Thursday, June 5, 2008, at Pulaski Health and Rehab.

She was born on March 18, 1928. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil Jasper Hamilton and Kathleen Purdy Hamilton; a sister, Shirley J. Hamilton; sister and brothersin-law, Geneva and Carl Albert, and Bernice and Carmen Whitaker; brother, Carroll E. Hamilton; and her father and mother-in-law, Audrey and Lillie Flinchum.

She is survived by her husband, Ellis D. Flinchum, of Belspring; her son, Robert C. Ramsdell, of Newport News, son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Janet Ramsdell, of Parrott; special family member, Roger Moore, of Newport News, stepson, Dennis Flinchum, of Barren Springs; and stepdaughter, Vanda Flinchum, of Pulaski. She is also survived by a special granddaughter, Hannah K. Ramsdell, of Parrott. Also surviving are her sister and brother-in-law, Mary Ellen and Robert Baker, of Galax; brother and sister-in-law, William and Freda Hamilton, of Parrott; sister, Hester Jones, of Radford; sister-in-law, Emily Hamilton, of Dublin; brother and sisters-in-law, Erby and Colleen Simpkins, of Snowville, Harold and Verily Simpkins, of Snowville, Tony and Vickey Moles, of Snowville, and Ricky and Donna Flinchum, of Pulaski; sister-in-laws, Claudell Owens, of Radford, and Vivian Marshall, of Snowville; as well as several special nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 7, 2008, at DeVilbiss Funeral Home in Radford, Va., with the Rev. Mike Duncan and the Rev. Curtis Ratcliffe officiating. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin, Va.

The family will receive friends at DeVilbiss Funeral Home on Friday, June 6, 2008, from 6 to 8 p.m. Flowers are welcome and the family requests that those sending memorial contributions, please consider Parrott United Methodist Church, Hospice or the charity of your choice.
