Scesney, Florence Cooke

Florence Cooke Scesney, 92, of Blacksburg, died Tuesday, June 3, 2008, at Kroontje Health Care Center.

She was born in Buffalo, N.Y., on December 25, 1915, to the late Jacob and Elizabeth Cooke Lies. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Vincent Scesney, and a sister, Malvina Elizabeth Ohl.

She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Phyllis and Charles Frisa, of Aurora, Ohio, and Judi and Jack Hurley, of Culver City, Calif.; two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Mary Scesney, of Blacksburg, and Robert and Alison Stuart, of Greenville, N.C.; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at a later date. Arrangements by McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg, Va.
