Fleet Jr., Arnold Samuel

Arnold Samuel Fleet Jr., 60, of Blacksburg, died Monday, May 26, 2008, at Montgomery Regional Hospital with his family by his side. He was born in Montgomery County on August 26, 1947.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Anna Marie Hutchison Fleet. Sammy was an avid Hokie Football Fan. He is survived by his father, Arnold Samuel Fleet Sr., of Blacksburg; sons and daughters-in-law, Donnie and Carolyn Fleet, of Blacksburg, Arnold Samuel III (Sam) and Julie Fleet, of Christiansburg, and Brian and Tracie Fleet, of Riner; sister, Lois A. McCoy, of Blacksburg; brothers and sisters-in-law, David and Shirley Fleet, of Blacksburg, and Richard and Kathy Fleet, of Pembroke; grandchildren, Samantha Fleet, Joseph Fleet, Kimberly Fleet, Kirsten Fleet, and Monica Perdue; and several nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to express their appreciation to the ICU staff at Montgomery Regional Hospital.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at 2 p.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dewey O. Weaver Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the Westview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Blacksburg Rescue Squad, 200 Progress Street, NE, Blacksburg, Va., 24060.

Friends may call anytime after noon on Tuesday, and the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive SW, Blacksburg.
