Deeds Sr., Gene Richard

Gene Richard Deeds Sr., 75, of Radford, passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2008. He was a proud United States Marine veteran having served during the Korean Conflict and retired from RAAP in 1989.

He was a 1950 graduate of Huntington East High School. He was born June 26, 1932, in Huntington, W.Va., the son of the late Stanley Davis and Dorothy Russell Deeds.

Survivors include his wife, Janet Montgomery Deeds, of Radford; two daughters and sons-in-law, Debra and Allen Hatten, of Huntington, W.Va., and Aimee and Barry Flora, of Mosely; two sons and daughter-in-law, Gene R. Deeds Jr., of Radford, and Devin and Robbin Deeds ,of Belspring; a brother, Ronald Deeds, of Huntington, W.Va.; two sisters, Barbara Washington, of Huntington, W.Va., and Sandra Jarrell, of Salt Rock, W.Va.; six grandchildren, Derek, Dakota, Konner, Ema, Joshua and Justin; and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 23, 2008, at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford with the Rev. Darlene Marshall officiating. Interment will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin where VFW Post #776 will conduct Military Graveside Rites.
