Spotts, JoAnn Kinzer Anderson

JoAnn Kinzer Anderson Spotts, 77, of Lawrenceville, Ga. and formerly a longtime resident of Dublin, Va., passed away on April 20, 2008.

Born in Roanoke, Va., she was the daughter of the late Henry B. Kinzer and Louise Ratcliffe Kinzer. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Olin P. Anderson, Jr.; her husband of 11 years, Augustus Courtland “A.C.” Spotts III; and her brothers, William Brinson Kinzer and Ronald Jackson Kinzer.

She attended Radford University and New River Community College. She retired from Radford Army Ammunition Plant with 27 years’ service as a Personnel Specialist. She was an avid tournament bridge player, obtaining the degree of Life Master in 1994. She contributed many articles to various bridge magazines. One of her greatest accomplishments was scoring “highest score” among the “Master Solvers” in Bridge World Magazine.

Surviving are her only child, Marian Anderson, of Lawrenceville, Ga.; her brother, Henry Bane Kinzer, of Dublin; and her three sisters, Betty Lee Date, of Longwood, Fla., Patricia Gayle Colwell, of Roanoke and Martha Louise Allman, of Kingsport, Tenn.
