McDaniel, Mary Sue Akers

Mary Sue Akers McDaniel, 72, of Dublin, passed away Sunday, April 20, 2008, at her home.

Born December 19, 1935, in Dublin, Va., she was the daughter of the late John Earl Akers and Reba Jane Caldwell Akers. One brother, Robert Carl Akers, and one infant son, Jimmy Lewis Quesenberry, also preceded her in death.

Surviving are her children, Ron Akers and wife, Connie, of Salem, Va., Karen Burgess, formerly of Roanoke, Kenny Quesenberry and wife, Teresa, of Salem, Va., and Dean Walker and wife, Jessica, of Dublin; step children, Tracy and Troy Price, of Salem, and Ricky McDaniel, of Christiansburg, Va.; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Ernest and Mary Caldwell, of Salem, Va.; sister-in-law , Anna Akers, of Dublin; and former husband, Richard D. McDaniel, of Montvale, Va.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 23, 2008, at the Bower Funeral Chapel, Pulaski with the Rev. James Hopkins officiating. Interment will follow at the Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin.
