Nolen, Ernest Jefferson

Ernest Jefferson (Pete) Nolen, 86, of Blacksburg, passed away Wednesday morning, April 16, 2008.

Ernest was born on April 3, 1922. Ernest was the son of the late Floyd and Sallie Pate Nolen. Ernest was the brother to Melvin Nolen, of Radford, Va., and brother to Melva Allen, of Bristol, Va. Those who passed before him are sisters, Sylvia and Essie; and brothers, Lewis, Bernard, Robert and Buster.

He is survived by his wife, Edna Jean Nolen, of Blacksburg, Va.; three stepsons, Scottie Johnson, of Blacksburg, Va., Stephen Johnson, of Morristown, Tenn., and Terry Johnson and wife, Missy, of Rogersville, Tenn.; three stepgrandsons, Josh Johnson, of Morristown, Tenn., Jacob Johnson, of Rogersville, Tenn., and Dylon Johnson, of Rogersville, Tenn.; and one stepgranddaughter, Summer Johnson, of Rogersville, Tenn.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 19, 2008, in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Claude Dove officiating. Interment will follow in the Westview Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Midway Community Church, 485 Virginian Drive, Christiansburg, Va. 24073. The family will receive friends on Friday night, April 18, 2008, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, S.W., Blacksburg, Va.
