Stosser, Paul Raymond

Paul Raymond Stosser, 63, of Secretariat Drive in Danville, Ky., and formerly of Blacksburg, Va., passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2008, at UK Medical Center in Lexington, Ky.

Born March 3, 1945, in Buffalo, N.Y., he was a son of Marian Rupp Stosser of Buffalo, N.Y. and the late Raymond F. Stosser. Paul was a car enthusiast, enjoying his corvettes, antique car restorations and his collection of vehicles. He also had a talent for photography and his computer research. His purpose for excellence in his work ethic will be remembered by those who long knew him. He attended the Willow Grove Baptist Church. Mr. Stosser retired as manufacturing manager for the Corning/ Phillips plant in Danville. He was a graduate from the Virginia Tech University College of Engineering. He was an avid fan of Virginia Tech athletics.

Survivors include his dear wife, whom he wed on August 25, 1984, Sandra Saunders Stosser; mother, Marian Rupp Stosser, of Buffalo, N.Y.; sons, Scott Allen (Heather) Stosser and Jeffrey Paul (Venessa) Stosser, both of Blacksburg, Va.; stepsons, Tim (Robin) Saul and Todd (Teresa) Saul, both of Dublin, Va.; sister, Jeanne (David) Strong, of Rochester, N.Y.; four grandchildren, Nicholas, Courtney, Devon and Ayden Stosser; three stepgrandsons, Brandon, Jarrard and Tye Saul; two nieces, Jacqueline and McKenzie Strong; and his loving pets, Shami and Precious.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 12, 2008, at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home in Danville, Ky. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Monday, April 14, 2008, at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Christiansburg, Va. Contributions in lieu of flowers are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
