Dickerson, Danny Lee

Danny Lee Dickerson, 57, of Pearisburg, Va., went to be with the Lord Friday morning, April 11, 2008, at his home.

Danny was born on August 21, 1950, in Pearisburg, Va., and was a son of the late Millard J. and Violet Anderson Dickerson. Danny was a member of the First Baptist Church, in Pearisburg, a retired employee of the Volvo Truck Plant, in Dublin, a former member of the Pearisburg Jaycees, a former member of the Castle Rock Golf Course, in Pembroke, and was an enthusiastic supporter of the Virginia Tech Hokies. He loved his family and friends and never met a stranger. He especially enjoyed the love of his nephew and two nieces.

He is survived by two sisters, Mary Carol and husband, Sam Gray, of Pearisburg, Jeanette Dickerson, of Pearisburg; one brother, Stevie and and wife, Tina Dickerson, of Blacksburg; one nephew, Michael L. Dickerson; and two nieces, Ashley and Sierra Dickerson.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, April 16, 2008, at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, in Pearisburg, with the Rev. Michael Bratton and the Rev. T.M. Stevens officiating. Burial following in the Birchlawn Burial Park, in Pearisburg.
