(Tommy) Caviness Sr., 88 of Pulaski, died Thursday, September 4, 2014, at Lewis Gale Hospital, Pulaski.He was born on April 8, 1926, and was the son of the late Edith and Walter Caviness.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Doris Owen Caviness, and a brother, Douglas Caviness. Tommy was a faithful member of the First Christian Church (DOC) of Pulaski. He was a Deacon Emeritus, as well as a proud member of the choir.He was also a member of the Pythagoras Masonic Lodge #239 A.F. & A.M., where he proudly served as a Past Master, Past District Deputy Grand Master, and a member of the Royal Arch Chapter. He is survived by his wife, Joy Caviness of Pulaski; a son, T.W. Caviness and his wife, Susan, of Dublin;a daughter, Linda Miller and her husband, Charlie, of Phoenix, Ariz.; brothers, Carl Caviness and his wife, Johnnie Mae, of Mt. Airy, N.C., Ronald Caviness of Martinsville, and Wesley Caviness and his wife, Jamie, of Collinsville;a sister-in-law, Shelby Caviness of Troutman, N.C.He is also survived by grandsons;Adam Miller of Orlando, Fla., Matt Miller of Phoenix, Ariz.; and a granddaughter, Ashley Showalter of N.J. Funeral services will be held Monday, September 8, 2014at 2 p.m. at the First Christian Church.Entombment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin where Pythagoras Lodge #239 A.F.&A.M. will provide Masonic Rites.The family will receive friends at the churchon Monday from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m.service time.Online condolences may be sent to the family by visitingwww.seaglefuneralhome.com.
