White, Gloria Duke

amem_village.jpgGloria Duke White, 80, died on April 2, 2008, at her home in Pulaski, Va., a loving wife, mother and grandmother and a caring friend to so many.

She was born in Wellsville, N.Y., on May 10, 1927, to the late Hazel and James Duke. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Jo Groner and Ann Miller; her brother, Jim Duke; and her grandson, Edward White King.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 60 years, John Haynes White; by her brother, Rock Taylor (Skip) Duke; her son, Robert Fisher White; her daughter, Ann White King and husband, Donald Edward King; and her grandchildren, Benjamin Haynes, Claire Gibson and Julia Taylor King.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 5, 2008, at Christ Episcopal Church, 144 North Washington Avenue, Pulaski, Va., with the Rev. Vickie Houk officiating, followed by a reception in the parish hall. A private burial will take place before the service.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 4, 2008, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home, 815 Randolph Avenue, Pulaski, Va.
