Willard, Everett Glenvar
Everett Glenvar (Feets) Willard, of Blacksburg, passed away peacefully early on the morning of April 2, 2008. He was born February 15, 1918 to James O. and Elva Webb Willard. He was preceded in death by brothers, James (Eggie) , Raymond L. Willard, sister, Ima W. Bess and sister-in-law, Grace K. Reynolds.
A WWII Army Air Corp veteran, he served principally in the South Pacific. He worked at Electro Tech and retired from VA Tech’s Department of Sanitary Engineering after nearly 30 years of service. Feets was a member of Luther Memorial Lutheran Church and Hunter’s Masonic Lodge 156 A.F. and A.M. for over half a century.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Elizabeth Keister Willard; son, E. G. Willard, Jr. (Karen), of Westminster, Colo.; daughter, Beth W. Fife (Tommy), of Myrtle Beach, S.C. After retiring, he enjoyed years with his grandchildren, Rhett Thomas Fife and Kyle Glen Fife, of Myrtle Beach, S.C. and S. Ashley Willard of San Antonio, Texas. He was also survived by his sister, Betty Jo Estes (Keith); sister-in-law, Pat Willard; and brother-in-law, Osborne Reynolds. Special nieces, Robin, Tammy and Jan numerous nieces, nephews and cousins enjoyed many fond days with “Feetsaboy”. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and uncle. He had numerous friends and never met a stranger.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, April 5, 2008 at 2 p.m. in the Luther Memorial Lutheran Church, with Pastor Gary Schroeder officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg. Friends may call anytime after 12 noon Friday, and the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday evening with Masonic Rites held at 7:30 p.m. at McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive SW, Blacksburg.
