Howery, Ricky Dean
Ricky Dean Howery, of Floyd, chose to leave his life on September 27, 2014. He was born in Roanoke, Virginia on August 2, 1963 to Jimmy and Dot Howery. Ricky graduated from Floyd County High School, and later went on to complete Harley-Davidson mechanic certification. Ricky was an avid deer hunter, and was happiest during hunting season.
Of all of the things in this world, he was most proud of his son, Brandon Howery. Ricky is survived by his grandmother, Helen Howery; his parents, Jimmy and Dot Howery; his son Brandon Howery; his sister and brother-in-law, Rhonda and Steve Arthur; his nieces, Tabitha Griffith Burgess and Kendra Arthur Edgell as well as two nephews in-law, Matthew Burgess and Shane Edgell. Ricky is also survived by two great-nephews, Atticus Edgell and Raylan Burgess. Ricky also left behind a multitude of aunts, uncles, and cousins. Ricky will be missed by friends and family, and we are sorry to see him go. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at Jacksonville Cemetery with the Reverend Roy Turpin officiating. Family friends are invited to share in food and stories immediately following the service at the home of Jimmy and Dot Howery in Floyd.
