Hixon, Betty Jo

Betty Jo Hixon, 82, of Radford, passed away on Tuesday September 16, 2014. She was born on March 25, 1932 to the late Harry A. and Mary McGuire Burk.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Charles L. Hixon, Jr.; her sister, Frances H. Farmer; her niece, Virginia Altmaier; and her nephews, James and Gary Farmer. Those left to cherish her memory are her sister-in-law, Mary Hixon; her nieces, Mary Hill, Alice McPeak, Jo Ann Farmer, Charlotte (Jerry) Cox, Kareen (Barry) Arnold, Trasa (Johnny) Jones, and Calli (Mark) Phillips; and her nephews, Roger Farmer and James Hixon. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.Friday, September 19, 2014 at DeVilbiss Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Services will directly follow with Pastor Bobbie Henley officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Christiansburg, Va. DeVilbiss Funeral Home in Radford, Va. is in charge of arrangements.
