Medley, Douglas

Douglas Medley, age 70, of Newport died Monday, September 15, 2014 at Avante at Roanoke. He was born in Giles County, VA on June 2, 1944 to the late Roy and Blanche Greenway Medley.

He was also preceded in death by his wife, Minnie Pearl Medley; brothers, Melvin Medley, Jake Medley, sister, Elizabeth Henderson. He is survived by a daughter, Ida Kay Medley; a son, Jimmy James Douglas Medley; a grandchild, Clinton Dekoda Leo Grissom; sisters, Frances Huffman, Pauline Myers, Patricia Williams; brother, Larry Medley. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, September 18, 2014 at 11:00 am in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. David Williams officiating. Interment will follow in the Williams Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10-11:00 am Thursday prior to the service at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, SW Blacksburg.
