Walters, Odessa Jones

Odessa Jones Walters, 91, of Pearisburg, went to be with the Lord on March 22, 2008 at Carilion Giles Memorial Hospital in Pearisburg, Va.

Mrs. Walters was born on April 26, 1916 in Ballard, W.Va., a daughter of the late Pleasant (Pleas) Jones and Nannie Brooks Jones. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Buford Elwood Walters; one brother and seven sisters. Mrs. Walters was a member of the Pearisburg Baptist Church. She is survived by many nieces, nephews and special friends.

Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday, March 24, 2008, at Givens Funeral Chapel, Pearisburg, with the Rev. Ward Harris officiating. Burial will follow in the Birchlawn Burial Park, Pearisburg. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday evening, March 23, 2008, at Givens Funeral Home.
