George Washington Fife, Jr., 91, of Pulaski, VA passed away Saturday morning, August 23, 2014, at his daughter and son-in-law’s home, where he resided for the past 15 months. He was born in Lomax, WV on June 21, 1923 and was the son of the late George Washington Fife, Sr. and Lydia Agnes Bean Fife.
He also was preceded in death by his 3 sisters, Juanita Humphreys, Nancy Smith and JoAnn Gibson. Prior to his daughter’s home he resided at the Virginia Veterans Care Center, Salem, VA for 8 years. Mr. Fife was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served in WWII.
Surviors include his wife, Jackie Dooley Fife; daughters, Debi S. Fife Walden, Vickie L. Fife Hunt and husband Tommy Hunt, Donna K. Fife Bullion and Paul (Allen) Bullion, Jr.; sons, James Larry Fife, George W. Fife; as well as 16 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m.Wednesday, August 27, 2014,at the Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Don Sizemore officiating. A Graveside Service will be held atnoon from the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery, Dublin with the Pulaski VFW Post #1184 conducting the military graveside rites.
