Runions, William French

William French (Bill) Runions, 88, of Narrows, passed away Saturday, March 11, 2006.

A lifelong resident of Giles County, he was born February 11, 1918 and was the son of the late John Levi and Bessie Martin Runions. In addition to his mother and father, he was preceded in death by his wife, Laura Hash Runions, and two brothers, Louis Runions and Earl Runions.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a retired employee of Celanese Acetate in Narrows.

He is survived by his son, Kenneth Runions of Narrows.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 14, 2006 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Riffe’s Funeral Service in Narrows. Burial will follow in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg with graveside rites conducted by VFW Post #6000 of Narrows, American Legion Post #68 of Narrows and American Legion Post #311 of Pembroke.
